Maribelle--Coyle--Ch. 8-9
These chapters are about who the teachers or mentors are that create these talent hubs. I think what stood out to me is that it is not so much about how well they know their particular skill, but how well they know their students. Of course, they still need to have mastered their skill and be knowledgeable, but that knowledge is not enough. They need to know their students. If they can connect with their student, they can communicate to them in a way that will foster success. If one teacher teaches each student the same way, some will get lot in the dust, despite having vast amounts of potential. This section of the book also has me feeling quite reflective and touched. What incredible teachers and mentors I have had that have taken the time to know me and encourage me. What an incredible talent and skill to be a teacher that has the ability to inspire greatness.
